R & D

It takes a special person to work in research and development environments. R&D demands every skill a business employs… someone who enjoys working with others, is organized and inquisitive, anticipates events, has “on the fly” mitigation skills, is respectful of others and can communicate. Oh, and enjoys an environment that is both controlled and uncertain. Yum!

  • A technical interface with research and development teams comprised of project managers, engineers and customers in the development of new products.
  • Hands on manufacturing/assembly support to Engineering R&D functions for the purpose of developing aerospace components, products and processes.
  • Experienced in setting up completely new machining facilities or work cells from concepts and early design ideas.
  • Identify and implement safety measures “on the fly”  to mitigate inherent hazards in qualification test systems.
  • Have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a strong ability to work independently.
  • Function as the projects lead technician on assigned projects.
  • From general Engineering test instructions, create schematics and build R&D test setups for qualification process testing.
  • Possess extreme attention to detail, concise data collection techniques and an ability to see beyond the obvious when performing qualification testing.
  • Experienced in specifying, programming, using and validating proper operation of pressure, temperature, flow, accelerometers, load cells, LVDT, RVDT and strain gauge data acquisition components and control systems.
  • Possess highly developed test and assembly skills and be able to compile and prepare test data reports in support of qualification testing of complex flight control components and assemblies.
